The Sarah Redheffer Memorial Music Trust

The Sarah Redheffer Memorial Music Trust has been set up in memory of Sarah Redheffer who was tragically killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York at the age of 35. Sarah was the elder daughter of the Rev’d David and Sue Prothero. The funds of the trust were primed with a generous donation from Sarah’s parents.

The Trust is formed to provide help towards music, instruments etc. for young people of the Parish of Marldon.

Parents or guardians are invited to apply for help towards instruments, music and tuition via the Vicar the Rev. Peter Bellenes (letters may be left at the school).

If anyone would like to make a donation to the Fund - have you thought of a legacy? - or host a fundraising event please contact any of the following:

Fr. David was Vicar of Marldon - after his curacy at St. Marychurch - from September 1974 to June 1983 when he moved to St. Martin’s Barton and then to his present incumbency at Bath.

During their time at Marldon, Sarah and her sister Jane, were gifted choristers at Marldon Church. At that time there were no adult sopranos in the choir but several boys and girls. However, the volume of the ‘Melody Line’ singing fell 50% when Sarah was away due to the confidence she inspired in the others!

Sarah’s remains are buried in Marldon Churchyard.
